The Fairleigh 1Card enables students to access four separate accounts: 1Card Cash, Meal Plan, and 1Card Cash Dining Only. Each account must be funded prior to use and has unique rules for acceptance and the rollover of funds (see the summary chart below).
1Card Cash:
1Card Cash is a prepaid spending account offering a convenient and economical way to make purchases on and around campus. It is designed to eliminate the need to carry cash around campus. On campus, 1Card Cash is accepted as a form of payment at bookstores, copy centers, select vending machines, and at all campus eateries. 1Card Cash supplements the Meal Plan and 1Card Cash Dining Only for residential students at campus eateries. For non-residential students, 1Card Cash is a convenient way to pay for meals and snacks at campus eateries. 1Card Cash is also accepted at popular businesses around both campuses. You or your parents must make a deposit to 1Card Cash prior to using it for purchases. Value in 1Card Cash rolls over every semester and year, as long as you are a member of the Fairleigh Dickinson University community.
Meal Plan:
Meal Plans are a nutritionally balanced dining program that are required for all residential students accepted at the Dining Hall on each campus. Payment is made at the beginning of each semester along with tuition and other fees.
Default Meal Plan for new and returning students is Plan A. Returning student have the option to switch to Plan B. Students in apartments with kitchens are defaulted to Plan D, but can upgrade to Plan A or B prior to the start of the semester.
1Card Cash Dining Only:
Several Meal Plans include a 1Card Cash Dining Only account. These funds can be used at all on-campus dining facilities and campus vending machines as well as off-campus restaurants and grocery stores that accept 1Card Cash (Note: The 1Card Cash Dining Only account is not accepted at off-campus non-food establishments such as pharmacies and gas stations). Funds will be added to this account as part of your Meal Plan. 1Card Cash Dining Only funds roll over from the fall to spring semester but not to the next academic year.
